1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to all website design, development, maintenance and management services provided by Crown Web House ("we", "us", "our") to a client ("you"). By accepting a written quotation or proposal from us, you agree to these terms. Where a signed project agreement conflicts with these terms, the project agreement takes precedence.

2. Quotations and scope

Every project begins with a written quotation setting out the agreed scope, deliverables and timeline. Work outside that scope is treated as a change request and quoted separately before it is carried out. Quotations remain valid for [quotation validity period TBC] from the date of issue.

3. Fees and payment

  • Project fees are as stated in the accepted quotation.
  • A deposit of [deposit amount TBC] may be required before work begins.
  • Invoices are payable within [payment terms TBC] of the invoice date.
  • Recurring services such as Website Management are billed monthly in advance at the rate confirmed in writing.
  • Late payment may result in work being paused until the account is settled.

4. Your responsibilities

You agree to provide content, images, brand assets, access credentials and feedback in reasonable time. Delays in supplying materials may extend the project timeline. You confirm that any content you supply is accurate and that you hold the rights to use it.

5. Revisions and approval

Design and build stages include a reasonable number of revisions, with the specific allowance stated in your quotation ([revision limit TBC]). Once you approve a stage in writing, further changes to that stage may be chargeable.

6. Timelines

We give indicative timelines in good faith based on the agreed scope. Timelines assume prompt supply of content and feedback and are not guaranteed dates unless expressly agreed in writing.

7. Third-party services

Projects may rely on third-party platforms, hosting providers, themes, plugins or payment processors. Those services are governed by their own terms and pricing. We are not responsible for outages, changes or failures caused by third parties.

8. Intellectual property

On full payment of all sums due, ownership of the final website design and any bespoke code created specifically for your project transfers to you. We retain ownership of any pre-existing tools, frameworks or components we reuse across projects, licensed to you for use within your website.

9. Hosting and maintenance

Hosting and ongoing maintenance are only included where expressly stated in your quotation or where you hold an active Website Management arrangement. Without those, responsibility for updates, backups and security rests with you after handover.

10. Liability

We provide our services with reasonable skill and care. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability in connection with a project is limited to the fees paid by you for that project. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, business or data. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11. Cancellation

Either party may end a project by giving written notice of [cancellation notice period TBC]. Work completed up to the cancellation date remains payable. Refund treatment is set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the date your quotation is accepted is the version that applies to your project.
